Southwest Technology Consultants
Dr. Ronald L. Iman is President of Southwest Technology Consultants.
Dr. Iman has been a statistical consultant for over
42 years.Prior to forming STC, he was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was employed for more than 20 years.
At Sandia, he consulted with industry and governmental agencies on a wide range of engineering applications.
He currently serves on the Professional
Auditing Team
for the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology.
He has consulted extensively in the telephony industry to determine
compliance with the Fed. Comm. Act of 1996. He organized and chaired a multi-year effort by a group of 22 organizations
that conducted test programs to evaluate environmentally friendly soldering processes
for printed circuit cards that are now in widespread use in military and commercial applications.
He has developed test protocols and statistical models to demonstrate the
sensitivity and specificity of a new medical device for breast
cancer detection.
He has also held positions with The Upjohn Company and at White Sands Missile Range in addition to faculty appointments at Kansas State University and Western Michigan University.
Dr. Iman holds a Ph.D.
in statistics from Kansas State University and has authored six college
textbooks in applied statistics and numerous professional publications.
The Institute for Scientific Information has listed Dr. Iman as a
highly cited researcher .
He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association
and served as the 1994 President of the ASA. He also serves on the
Kansas State University Foundation Board of Trustees; the KSU Research
Foundation Board of Directors; KSU Dean's Advisory Council for Arts &
Sciences;
and has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Kansas State University Alumni Association.
